Parshati loves sharing her knowledge whether it is about science communication or space! She has led numerous workshops on diverse topics for high school, undergraduate and graduate students, as well as educators.
Public Engagement, Education and Outreach require strong communications skills. Communications came naturally to Parshati as she gained experience in the field. Parshati grew passionate about communications since she started volunteering for the podcast in 2012. Since then, Parshati has dabbled into video and social media communications. Parshati has developed and managed content for various social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Parshati, along with several graduate students, has developed a series of science communication workshops aimed at students to communicate science effectively. The science communications workshops include topics such as storytelling, messaging, audience, social media for science communication as well as oral and visual presentation skills.
Being an Educational Outreach and Communications Specialist for the past 5 years, Parshati has developed and led several educator training sessions as well as co-organized and co-led Space Educators Conference. She is frequently invited to present workshops to pre-service teachers to share tips, tricks and resources to teach space in their classrooms.
